Kotha's Atelier
Kotha's Atelier is a Hyderabad-based architecture and interior design practice founded by Prudvi Raj Reddy Kotha in January 2022.
The practice is built on a simple premise: architecture should emerge from a site's own conditions — its climate, land, water, sun, wind, and existing trees — rather than start from a preconceived form. Every project follows a process of observing the site, understanding its constraints and opportunities, responding through design, and shaping an experience that feels specific to that place.
Before founding the practice, Prudvi worked on measured as-built and heritage documentation for over 30 historic buildings in and around Hyderabad — work that shaped a close attention to how buildings age, weather, and hold up over time.
Kotha's Atelier works on residential and commercial projects, from new builds and renovations to interiors and heritage-conscious design, taking on a limited number of projects at any time to work closely with each client.
Recent work includes residences and villa communities across Hyderabad, including projects in Shivarampally, Shamshabad, and Thukkuguda.
The Practice
Architecture, at its core, is an act of listening before it is an act of building. Founded in Hyderabad by Principal Architect Prudvi Raj Reddy Kotha, Kothas Atelier Architects operates on the conviction that a truly resonant structure emerges organically from its Context.
Our work is guided by a site-responsive design methodology. Every intervention begins with a meticulous reading of the land—its microclimate, topography, prevailing sun and wind patterns, hydrology, and existing flora. By focusing on these natural environmental conditions and observing site context deeply, we shape spaces that feel deeply rooted, site-specific, and enduring.
The Foundation of Craft
This dedication to authenticity is informed by extensive prior immersion in architectural heritage. Before establishing the practice, Prudvi dedicated significant research to conducting measured surveys, detailed documentation, and as-built analyses of over 30 historic structures across Hyderabad. This rigorous encounter with traditional masonry, regional tectonic logic, and vernacular spatial sequencing instilled a profound understanding of how buildings weather, patina, and endure through time.
Design Ethos
Operating across residential villas, commercial projects, and interior transformations, the studio maintains a deliberately selective project bandwidth. This ensures that every commission receives uncompromised personal oversight from concept through execution.
